Robert Clair's Biography

Glass and ceramic artist Robbie Clair, was born and raised in Charleston and through his adventures has developed a deep connection with nature in the Lowcountry. His hand-blown glass forms reflect the shimmer of the sea breeze across the water, and his colors, the whims of the sky and summer sun. Prior to his return to the States in 2005, Robbie spent eight years living in Japan, studying Japanese ceramics, teaching art and traveling in South East Asia . In 2006, he apprenticed under renowned glass artist Herman Leonhardt and soon to follow, Robert completed a large installation of his work at Vanderbilt University. He now resides on Yonges Island with wife where they also design and create jewelry and ceramics
